On my computer, which is not new, the program works very fast. Also the new Compatibility report is great and insightful. In particular I like the new texts about the Yogas. The interpretative texts are much more extensive than in the first version. Personally I like this system more than Shadbala to give insight into the workings of the planets. The Shubha and Ashubha Yogas are very insightful. It almost looks like a totally new program since there are so many new features.

I like the way you have used green and red colors on the timeline so that one can see immediately what is going on at a certain moment. The graphical presentation of auspicious and inauspicious transits on the timeline is both beautiful and highly instructive. Another great and indispensable tool is the Transits Calendar. It is an indispensable tool for the predictive astrologer. It gives a complete overview of all the relevant transits, not just of the date but of the exact timing as well. Among the outstanding new features are the Transits Hit List, which is something that I never seen in any program before. I was overwhelmed by the many new features.

The default hue of yellow color of the Kala screen increases ones Jupiterean element while looking at a chart for increased intuition, though it might not have been intentional by the programmer of Kala but it is most helpful. Sometime back Kala was requested to include this feature which they have kindly done so in their 2008 release along with many other new exciting features. A true esoteric astrologer needs to fall in love with the Rasi chart by dazing at it & not getting diverted into other areas of a software screen, trying to search & remember which nakshatra or degree a planet is in. "The reason this is one of the best softwares is if you know Parampara Astrology then you would want in the Rasi Chart below each Planet, the degree and the nakshatra the Planet is in, for easier delineation of the chart.
